Chloe and Ryan @ The Woods Farm
About You Two;
Now, How did you two meet?
Initially in Ibiza in 2014, through mutual friends; I sold Ryan a festival ticket as I was doing a season there and he was on holiday. He moved to London for work in 2015 and started hanging around in my circle.
Who popped the Question and how did it happen?
Ryan – at the lighthouse in Palm Beach, he had booked me off my pub shift and had a beautiful day planned including a stay at the Shangri-La I had no idea as thought we were just doing a hike before I started work in the evening, I was in activewear and taken by surprise.
Why did you choose your venue and how was the venue choosing process?
We spoke about what we wanted; an outdoor venue with the reception and chapel all at the one location including accommodation for all guests to stay on site too, Ryan googled and it presented The Woods Farm, we didn’t look for anywhere else, it is a perfect venue for a Wedding and I am so glad we got married there.
Quick Fire Questions;
How many wedding guests did you have?
98
Sit down of Cocktail Style?
Sit down
What month?
December
Planning The Wedding;
Was planning the wedding stressful or did you enjoy the journey?
A little bit stressful at times but overall loved it as we are those people that want to give 100% to everything we do, we took a lot on ourselves by making things for a personal touch, would not have done it another way! The outcome was worth all the hours inputted.
How involved were you both in the wedding planning, did one of you take more of the lead on certain aspects than others or were you both equally involved?
Equally involved, Ryan was more organised with keeping up with the emails and payments, I was more in the little details and creative side.
What was the top couple of non-negotiables or important must-have’s at the wedding for you both?
A coordinator was very important as we did not want our bridal party having jobs on the day, a great photographer and videographer.
Tell us about your dress and that dress-finding process?
I tried on 15 dresses in England and there was one I was 90% sure on, that 10% doubt stopped me buying it. In Sydney I took 2 of my bridesmaids to Brides in Love, the drive was affected by traffic so we only had 30mins in the shop before it closed. I showed the shop assistant what I wanted and she led me to a replica of it, we picked another 4 dresses to quickly try on, the shop assistant wouldn’t let me try on the dress until the last (I think she knew it was the one) so the 20thdress I tried was the one. Having 2 looks in one was important to me so I had sleeves on for some photos and then a veil for walking down the aisle without the sleeves, it was embroidered and my dream dress.
What sort of theme, vibe or style did you go for?
Boho farm chic
On the Day;
How did you both feel wedding morning?
We stayed together in one of the teepees the night before, we hardly slept; excited and emotional.
What was the best part or moment of your day?
The first dance was beautiful, our song ‘On a Good Day’ Above & Beyond pres Ocean Lab, means a lot to us and our friends. The whole day was very emotionally charged and it was lovely to have those moments with our friends and families.
Anything you would change about your wedding or anything that didn’t go to plan?
As it was such an emotional day and I had not really eaten I do not remember the bouquet toss or the sparkler exit, ooops! Would love to have remembered those key events, but I am sure there’s some pictures I haven’t seen yet, somewhere haha.
Are there any rituals, sentiments or traditions you incorporated into the day?
We broke a lot of traditions, staying together the night before, my brother walked me down the aisle, we had a humanistic wedding, we had a best woman… we did the day for us and no one else, it was our perfect day.
After the Wedding;
Describe newlywed life in a couple of words?
Legally bound to the love of my life.
Best investment or money well spent on the wedding that you made?
All of it honestly was the best investment we have made, no regrets on where the money was spent, we had the most perfect day. All our vendors were worth their weight in gold.
Budget-over, under or what you estimated?
Slightly over but worth every cent!
