Real Wedding; Jaclyn and Daniel @ The Woods Farm
About You Two;
Now, How did you two meet?
Working at a fast food chain when we were in in highschool, we reconnected 10 years later and Daniel still had my number saved in his phone.
Who popped the question and how did it happen?
Daniel (Doc) popped the question on a cliff looking over Katherine Gorge while we were roading tripping around Australia.
Why did you choose your venue and how was the venue choosing process?
It was the first venue we looked at while we were on our way home from our road trip and it just felt like us.
Quick Fire Questions;
How many wedding guests did you have?
97
Sit down or Cocktail Style?
Sit down
What month?
October
Planning The Wedding;
Was planning the wedding stressful or did you enjoy the journey?
We enjoyed getting creative and making it personal, we did not enjoy the cost or all the politics that seem to come with weddings planning.
How involved were you both in the wedding planning, did one of you take more of the lead on certain aspects than others or were you both equally involved?
Daniel was in charge of food & alcohol vendors and music and Jaclyn was in charge of design, outfits, logistics and all the bits and pieces.
What was the top couple of non-negotiables or important must-have’s at the wedding for you both?
Live music and cocktails! Having our celebrant stand in the middle of the aisle so we could look out at our guests and my grandfather as a “beer boy” instead of flowers girls.
Tell us about your dress and that dress-finding process?
Hated the whole process, it was rushed and I ended up going with a beautiful dress from made with love but I never had a “that’s the dress moment” I wish I left more time for this part as I didn’t LOVE my dress.
What sort of theme, vibe or style did you go for?
Country/boho/chic – bit of a mix!
On the Day;
How did you both feel wedding morning?
It was so fun and chilled. Daniel gifted me a beautiful necklace and we hung out with our respective bridal parties and parents, ate pastries and listened to a “wedding” themed playlist. It was so chilled as we had wonderful Sarah from WEC on top of everything! We were just so excited to be getting married.
What was the best part or moment of your day?
It sounds cheesy but exchanging vows during our ceremony and the dance floor.
Anything you would change about your wedding or anything that didn’t go to plan?
My veil got caught on the driftwood aisle due to a small breeze, Sarah saved the day and held my veil until I was out of the obstacle zone!
Are there any rituals, sentiments or traditions you incorporated into the day?
I wanted to do a traditional German toast to honour my dad and his German heritage but we didn’t have internet access in the WedShed, so it didn’t happen. Daniel got an adaptation of the Irish claddagh ring as his wedding band to honour his dad and heritage. We made the cones for the petal toss with the sheet music from our favourite song “better together” by Luke Combs and Daniel had this song title embroidered into his jacket as well.
After the Wedding;
Describe newlywed life in a couple of words?
So much fun!
Best investment or money well spent on the wedding that you made?
Our venue, making it a weekend made it so enjoyable and way more relaxed we really go to enjoy it.
Budget-over, under or what you estimated?
Threw the budget out the window haha but I think we were around the price we estimated.
