Real Wedding; Brianna and Brody @ Worrowing
About You Two;
Now, How did you two meet?
We met at our job at the end of 2015, which was at a local RSL type of club! Bri was 18 and Brody was 20. Bri worked on the front desk and Brody worked in the gaming area. We started texting/DMing in January after Brody purposefully made a “like for an inbox” status when we had just become Facebook friends, and went on our first date in February 2016 and I hate to say it… but the rest is history!
Who popped the Question and how did it happen?
We had openly spoken about marriage for a while, but we were still young and saving for travel and a house. Bri knew Brody had organised a ring because he’s not very good at secrets. Brody organised a very “random” date in September of 2022. Bri was highly suspicious. We went for a lovely lunch in the city and did an escape room and then went to the wildlife sanctuary. However, nothing happened during this time. Bri did always say she wanted it to be private and intimate so was kind of hoping that it wouldn’t happen in the city.
We arrived home to our fairly new house and Bri opened the front door and saw the hallway full of balloons with pictures of both of them during their favourite times together, with little reasons why Brody loved those moments. The floor was sprinkled with rose petals and there was a bouquet of ranunculus on the bench, with a note saying “now this is the moment I get down on one knee”. Bri turned around and Brody was proposing and we both laughed and Bri said yes. Brody then surprised Bri with dinner at her favourite restaurant with all her favourite people.
Why did you choose your venue and how was the venue choosing process?
We chose Worrowing because we really wanted that one stop shop, with the whole day happening at one venue. We also wanted to have a bit of a weekend ordeal so our non-negotiables was somewhere our close loved ones could stay, somewhere not too far from home and somewhere accessible for all our family and friends. We wanted the vibes to be a big party and nothing too ‘fancy’ with natural beauty. The week after we got engaged we had booked 3 venue visits. Worrowing’s natural beauty and accommodation options won us over.
Quick Fire Questions;
How many wedding guests did you have?
120
Sit down or Cocktail Style?
Sit down (banquet style)
What month?
November (2 days after Bri’s parents’ wedding anniversary)
Planning The Wedding;
Was planning the wedding stressful or did you enjoy the journey?
Bri: I absolutely loved it. I am definitely a planner. It didn’t come without challenges and stress, but being organised definitely helped. Brody was also helpful at keeping me calm and reassuring me that we were making the right choices.
How involved were you both in the wedding planning, did one of you take more of the lead on certain aspects than others or were you both equally involved?
Bri was definitely more of the organiser, but Brody did have more of an input than anticipated and I really wanted him to because I wanted him to feel accomplished when the day came around too.
What was the top couple of non-negotiables or important must-have’s at the wedding for you both?
Good music
A day of coordinator (WEC thank youuuuu!)
Good food
Not too much time spent away from our guests
Tell us about your dress and that dress-finding process?
I had an off putting experience at first. However, after some research I found a unique dress shop that catered to every size and made me feel so comfortable. I designed my dress based off modulars that they had in their showroom so essentially had a one of a kind dress that no one else had. It also gave me flexibility to have a second dress because I swapped out my long skirt for a short party skirt! This ended up cheaper than buying a whole new dress for the reception. I loved my time with ARA Experience and highly recommend them.
What sort of theme, vibe or style did you go for?
Ours was spring soiree, lots of bright colours and party vibes.
On the Day;
How did you both feel wedding morning?
Bri: I was so excited but certainly nervous about the weather. I tried not to worry but given our vibes for the day, I was worried! Brody: I was nervous but excited to be marrying Bri. We had waited for this day for so long so was excited to see it come to fruition.
What was the best part or moment of your day?
We loved every moment. We definitely kept our pact of staying together all day to ensure our favourite moments were shared. Nothing beats that adrenaline of seeing each other for the first time walking down the aisle. But partying with all our loved ones on the dance floor was also an unbeatable feeling. Our MCs (Bri’s Brother and sister-in-law) brought the vibes and we were so lucky to have them involved because they helped set that party scene for us.
Anything you would change about your wedding or anything that didn’t go to plan?
The weather was our biggest. Emily from WEC and Maddy from Worrowing were so awesome on this front. We consulted a couple of times throughout the morning about whether we would be able to have the ceremony outside. The sun came out just in time, but we certainly were considering having it undercover/inside. I was quite set on having it outside but really left the decision over to the experts because I didn’t want to spoil the day by making the wrong call that was based on my vision as opposed to practicality.
There were other small things, but really, we tried to not let those get to us.
Are there any rituals, sentiments or traditions you incorporated into the day?
We weren’t very traditional at all. We loved that we did what made us happy instead of what was expected. For example, we only had one person each in our bridal party, and they sat and watched our ceremony with everyone else. Bri didn’t take Brody’s last name. We came and joined our cocktail hour. We even stayed together the night before. We didn’t have a wedding cake, we opted for an espresso martini tower instead. These made us happy and put us at ease for the day.
After the Wedding;
Describe newlywed life in a couple of words?
It’s pretty similar, which sounds boring but we are (and were) always enjoying time spent together with our fur babies. It does feel amazing that we are now living our life that we always wanted together. We just wish we could go back and relive the day over and over.
Best investment or money well spent on the wedding that you made?
Amazing food and drink (Rabbit and Co and Henry Clive)
Amazing coordinator (WEC – thanks Emily!)
Amazing creatives! Our day was captured so perfectly by our photographer, videographer and content creator.
All our vendors were incredible to work with. We wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Budget-over, under or what you estimated?
Definitely over! But again, it’s one day of our lives that we could literally live over and over and not change a thing.
Weddings are really expensive, and yes you can do it cheaper than we did but I feel like the quality of vendors was important because we didn’t want to have to stress about anything on the day. It was worth it.
