Real Wedding; Clare and Bradley @ The Woods Farm
About You Two;
Now, how did you two meet?
We went to high school together, Brad was a few years below me but I don’t remember him from school (awkward!) After a big night out, I downloaded Bumble, we matched but then I woke up in the morning of full regret and thought I would delete the app. Brad remembered me from school and slid into the DMs on Instagram…the rest is history.
Who popped the question and how did it happen?
Bradley proposed in New York under Brooklyn Bridge.
Why did you choose your venue and how was the venue choosing process?
There was no other venue, it was The Woods Farm or nothing 🙂 I loved the vibe of The Woods Farm. I loved that it was all DIY and that guests could stay at the venue, and we could make it a little getaway with all our favourite humans.
Quick Fire Questions;
How many wedding guests did you have?
80 guests
Sit down or Cocktail Style?
I want to say cocktail but everyone had their own assigned spot to put their coats, phones or drink down but everyone was up and mingling. We had a pizza truck and a bloody delicious grazing board which added more of a cocktail vibe to the day
What month?
July …. hello fire pits!
Planning The Wedding;
Was planning the wedding stressful or did you enjoy the journey?
My OCD teacher organisation life loved the planning and the whole process. There were moments of small stress but I’m honestly bored now that I don’t have a wedding to plan.
How involved were you both in the wedding planning, did one of you take more of the lead on certain aspects than others or were you both equally involved?
90% to 10%? Nah. Bradley was a big part of the process. I didn’t action any vendors unless he 100% loved them! I did all the communication with vendors and organising side of things but Brad had his jobs which he killed!
What was the top couple of non-negotiables or important must-have’s at the wedding for you both?
Besides the venue and booking Wedding and Event Creators for the coordination/pack up. We both agreed that the floral arrangement at the end of the aisle had to awesome as it’s the most photographed point of the day and a killer musician/DJ. Huge shoutout to Tay Plain music who was the absolute best guy in the business and south coast local!
Tell us about your dress and that dress-finding process?
I always wanted to wear a Grace Loves Lace dress, I have always been in love with the CLO gown but never got my hopes up. I tried the CLO on as the first dress, first shop and it was love at first sight. I purchased the gown on the day, they sent my measurements off and made the gown to fit my body. I am still obsessed with my dress. It was such a fun day.
What sort of theme, vibe or style did you go for?
There was no specific theme BUT we wanted it be GOOD VIBES and everyone leave having the best time. I asked the bridesmaids and they said the ‘theme’ was rustic/boho. Vibe was super laid back with a touch of party.
On the Day;
How did you both feel wedding morning?
Bradley: good (awesome answer babe!) I was excited and super chilled about it all. Wedding and Events Creators and The Woods Farm took all the stress away as they were all across set up, vendors, guests and let me focus on getting ready and spending time with the Bride Tribe.
What was the best part or moment of your day?
Bradley: Partying into the night with my best friend aka wifey and all our loved ones. Clare: The whole day was an absolute dream, I just remember signing the marriage certificate and thinking how did I get so lucky. The reception was a fun old time, absolute solid vibes!
Anything you would change about your wedding or anything that didn’t go to plan?
Nothing that we would change we just had severe winds which added a bit of fun into the day. You can plan for rain but can’t plan for wind.
Are there any rituals, sentiments or traditions you incorporated into the day?
We went for a pretty non traditional wedding and did things that we wanted to do 🙂 Bradley had a best woman instead of best man.
After the Wedding;
Describe newlywed life in a couple of words?
Bloody amazing.
Best investment or money well spent on the wedding that you made?
All our vendors were amazing!! We are so OBSESSED with everyone that we had on the day. All vendors made the day so special with all the small touches that they made throughout the day. We paid for the pack up package with WEC, highly recommend if doing a DIY wedding. We spent more on florals, but it was worth it all especially how they were repurposed and Sarah from the Flower Pursuit is bloody amazing!!!!! Tay was all across the vibe from acoustics in cocktail hour to playing all the hit tracks for the dance floor to get everyone up and dancing. Our photographer/videographer worked their magic with the videos and photos, you can’t even tell we had crazy winds! We loved their work!!! Henry Clive always made sure Brad and I had a full drink in our hand and everyone loved how well organised and attentive to detail they were.
