Real Wedding; Debby and Steve @ Terara Riverside Gardens
About You Two;
Now, How did you two meet?
Steve was actually my mechanic, we had known each other for years, but were both in other relationships for a long time.
Who popped the question and how did it happen?
Steve did at the Milton Hotel, the ring box was inside the flat bread, our kids were all there so a big surprise to us all. Steve hadn’t told anyone.
Why did you choose your venue and how was the venue choosing process?
Steve is good family friends with the owners of the venue.
Quick Fire Questions;
How many wedding guests did you have?
95
Sit down or Cocktail Style?
Grazing board first, then a sit down share table.
What month?
End of April
Planning The Wedding;
Was planning the wedding stressful or did you enjoy the journey?
It wasn’t that stressful, just lots of little things need taking care of, things you don’t really think about.
How involved were you both in the wedding planning, did one of you take more of the lead on certain aspects than others or were you both equally involved?
I did the majority of things, Steve left most of it up to me.
What was the top couple of non-negotiables or important must-have’s at the wedding for you both?
We just wanted everyone to have a great time, good food, good music
Tell us about your dress and that dress-finding process?
I went to a few shops, had something in mind, but ended up getting my dress from Brides of Sydney Miranda, and the dress was very different than what I originally thought, I thought it would be A-line and simple, but it was fitted and a bit ‘blingy’.
What sort of theme, vibe or style did you go for?
It was very simple, elegant, not over the top, but we and our guests loved the vibe of the whole day.
On the Day;
How did you both feel wedding morning?
We didn’t see each other, but we were both quite relaxed, I think being a bit older you don’t stress too much.
What was the best part or moment of your day?
For me, walking in, seeing all our family and friends so happy for us both, and the beautiful speeches.
Anything you would change about your wedding or anything that didn’t go to plan?
It rained so we had to change the ceremony area, it was meant to be outside by the lake but was in the greenhouse instead, which was just as beautiful. And I would definitely have had it videoed if I had my time over, just things I missed and would be great to look at it every now and then.
Are there any rituals, sentiments or traditions you incorporated into the day?
No, nothing really.
After the Wedding;
Describe newlywed life in a couple of words?
It’s wonderful, was wonderful before we got married, so the happiness continues.
Best investment or money well spent on the wedding that you made?
Good food, buses for guests, great music.
Budget-over, under or what you estimated?
Pretty close to what I thought.
