Real Wedding; Gabriella and Henry @ Worrowing
About You Two;
Now, How did you two meet?
We had matched on a couple of dating apps and chatted but nothing ever eventuated. I came across Henry on Instagram and followed him at random. He then slid in my DMs and asked me on a date. Rest is history.
Who popped the Question and how did it happen?
Henry did at a mountain up in Lakeland QLD, overlooking a picturesque sunset. It was beautiful and a huge surprise.
Why did you choose your venue and how was the venue choosing process?
There are soooo many lovely venues we looked at in the Southern Highlands and south coast. We fell in love with Worrowing almost immediately. It ticked all our boxes but most of all, if we were asking our family and friends to spend a weekend away we wanted it to be somewhere we also enjoy. Which is definitely the Huskisson and Vincentia area.
Quick Fire Questions;
How many wedding guests did you have?
150
Sit down or Cocktail Style?
Sit down
What month?
First weekend of March
Planning The Wedding;
Was planning the wedding stressful or did you enjoy the journey?
I absolutely loved it. We had a long engagement so nothing felt rushed.
How involved were you both in the wedding planning, did one of you take more of the lead on certain aspects than others or were you both equally involved?
It was mostly me! We decided most things together but I was in my element planning it all.
What was the top couple of non-negotiables or important must-have’s at the wedding for you both?
A live band, plenty to drink and delicious food. Which from all accounts we NAILED.
Tell us about your dress and that dress-finding process?
I purchased the beautiful Harvey dress from Marquise Bridal. I went to a few different shops, but tried this one on first at the Ivory Room and I would just keep thinking about that dress. Plus the girls there are absolutely wonderful. The experience I had there each time was unmatched.
What sort of theme, vibe or style did you go for?
We want a relaxed and party style. We opted for vibrant colours and small details which reflected us. For example my brother drew a bunch of illustrations for our menus and invites, our favourite food is oysters which were served in canapé hour.
On the Day;
How did you both feel wedding morning?
Excited mostly, a bit of nerves for myself later on. Henry was a mix of excitement and nerves.
What was the best part or moment of your day?
Oh gosh. So hard to pick! Having the time just us and our photographer sipping our champagne and just not being able to wipe the smile off ours faces. And then I think the dance floor. It was such a hit.
Anything you would change about your wedding or anything that didn’t go to plan?
Absolutely nothing. Everything was a dream.
Are there any rituals, sentiments or traditions you incorporated into the day?
My family is Greek so we had Greek dancing at the end of the night which is always so much fun.
After the Wedding;
Describe newlywed life in a couple of words?
Not much has changed but it’s wonderful
Best investment or money well spent on the wedding that you made?
Don’t regret anything spent. Coordinator, content creator and live music were definitely up there. Food and drinks were worth every cent.
Budget-over, under or what you estimated?
We ended up a touch over, that was including a Friday dinner and drinks, plus a breakfast Sunday though. So we were happy all in all. Best day ever!!!
