About You Two;

Now, How did you two meet?

We knew of each other from high school but Lloyd was 3 grades ahead of me. It was such a small school everyone knew everyone in each grade. We later matched on Bumble – a dating app and went on our first date and immediately hit it off! The shared history of high school certainly made it more comfortable to meet up and things to talk about.

Who popped the Question and how did it happen?

Lloyd proposed to me in the botanical gardens in Queenstown, New Zealand on a little stone bridge before he had a romantic dinner planned. He proposed to me on July 27th 2019.

Why did you choose your venue and how was the venue choosing process?

The country south coast scenery and vibe is something that Lloyd and I thourally enjoy. So this region of NSW was the obvious choice to look for wedding venues. We had previously stayed at Worrowing Estate for a weekend getaway prior to Lloyd proposing so we came back there to check it out as a potential wedding venue. We only looked it and 2 more venues but was immediately in love with Worrowing’s natural beauty.

How many wedding guests did you have?

Sit down of Cocktail Style?

Canapé afternoon while playing lawn games then a shared banquet sit down dinner.

What month?

June. We had planned to get married in the September 2020 but had to postpone due to Covid.

Planning The Wedding;

Was planning the wedding stressful or did you enjoy the journey?

It was fun to do and the template Vanessa provided made it a lot easier and organised so we didn’t forget anything. After we postponed, we put planning on the back burner as most of it was done but the last couple of weeks was a little bit stressful to get the little things organised such a menu, seating charts and name tags etc!

How involved were you both in the wedding planning, did one of you take more of the lead on certain aspects than others or were you both equally involved?

We did 50/50. Lloyd works in pubs so was good with the supplier side of things while I enjoyed organising the decorations, wishing well, props and furniture.

What was the top couple of non-negotiables or important must-have’s at the wedding for you both?

Non – negotiables:

1. We wanted to have a 3 day wedding as guests were travelling to attend so we wanted to see everyone for longer. We had a welcome dinner and drinks at Huskisson Pub, the wedding on the Saturday and a recovery breakfast at the venue on the Sunday.

4. We wanted to celebrate the natural beauty of Worrowing without over shadowing it with heaps of add ons. We had minimal flowers in the reception to expose to the rustic feel of the shed.

Must haves:

1. Native flowers

2. ‘Split zones’ we wanted to create different areas for guests to be in at the wedding. We wanted to the outdoor grass areas for lawn games and standing around wine barrels with the caravan bar serving cocktails. The inside area for dinner and formalities. The fire pit relaxed cosy after dinner drinks.

Tell us about your dress and that dress-finding process?

As a little girl, I would always stop and look at the beautiful gowns when I walked passed the Brides of Beecroft store. After I got engaged, I knew I had to shop there. My dress was totally different to what I was looking for. I was initially looking for a lacey low back dress with straps. But I walked out with a strapless, sweet heart neckline mermaid dress! I was so shocked but the way it fitted my petite body and how elegant I felt, it was the right choice. I went with mother, twin sister and mother in law and it was a lovely experience.

What sort of theme, vibe or style did you go for?

The goal from the beginning was to capture Worrowing’s natural Australian bush land and native animals. Naturally, our choice in florist was one that specialised in native foliage. We worked closely together to make sure the rustic exposed elements of Worrowing were extenuated.

On the Day;

How did you both feel wedding morning?

I hardly slept as I was too excited. The wedding morning felt long as it was a 6am start for make up! Lloyd slept like a baby and went out for breakfast with his groomsman.

What was the best part or moment of your day?

For Kate, it was walking down the aisle and also reading my vows to Lloyd.

For Lloyd, it was watching Kate walk down the aisle. (It got a little emotional for him!)

Anything you would change about your wedding or anything that didn’t go to plan?

Nothing we would change! I did forget to do the bouquet toss but it really didn’t matter!

Are there any rituals, sentiments or traditions you incorporated into the day?

My earrings and bracelet were made out of my mums pearl necklace. She secretly spent months with a jeweller to create something so special and meaningful.

After the Wedding;

Describe newlywed life in a couple of words?

We are travelling Australia in a caravan! Certainly a unique first year married.

Best investment or money well spent on the wedding that you made?

Wedding and Event Creators! Not just staying this, but the evening ran without a hiccup due to Jade being on top everything. Vanessa’s emails in the lead up to the wedding were making us not forget anything and I don’t think we could of done it without the team!
