Real Wedding; Natalie and Anthony @ Terragong House
About You Two;
Now, How did you two meet?
Shamefully we met at the Postman’s Tavern in Nowra one Saturday night circa April 2010.
Who popped the Question and how did it happen?
Ant proposed on the 10 years anniversary of us “officially” being bf and gf. Due to restrictions at the time, we had gone on a picnic just around the corner from our house to celebrate our anniversary. We are very lucky that this is a spot overlooks Werri Beach so it is still very memorable and we love that we pass it everyday.
Why did you choose your venue and how was the venue choosing process?
We wanted to keep it to our local area so had looked around Gerringong/Kiama/Jamberoo. We loved Terragong as soon as we saw it and it became the benchmark of comparison when we looked at other venues. We loved the gardens, pool area and how helpful the owners are.
Quick Fire Questions;
How many wedding guests did you have?
Due to border restrictions, I think we had 50 on the day of the 60 invited.
Sit down of Cocktail Style?
Cocktail
What month?
February
Planning The Wedding;
Was planning the wedding stressful or did you enjoy the journey?
We really enjoyed wedding planning up until the second covid wave when it was clear that we would have to post-pone, then those initial couple of days after deciding were stressful, but every single one of our vendors were amazing and could accommodate the new date so the stress quickly turned to relief. The lead up to the wedding was also stress free as our vendors were on top of everything.
How involved were you both in the wedding planning, did one of you take more of the lead on certain aspects than others or were you both equally involved?
Nat did more initially, but Ant was great at sorting logistics/following things up in the few weeks leading up to the big day.
What was the top couple of non-negotiables or important must-have’s at the wedding for you both?
Good food (thanks Garnish) and drinks (including all wines from local south coast wineries) and stubby coolers as party favours
Tell us about your dress and that dress-finding process?
I always wanted to go to Storybook Bridal (then located in Gerringong) as we would see it every Saturday when getting coffee. The girls there were so great and helped me choose a style that I would never have thought to try if I didn’t have their help.
What sort of theme, vibe or style did you go for?
Relaxed and fun
On the Day;
How did you both feel wedding morning?
A little worries when it was raining- but still excited.
What was the best part or moment of your day?
Nat – I loved the ceremony, Ant- the aisle walk/all of it (haha)
After the Wedding;
Describe newlywed life in a couple of words?
Content and busy (being wedding guests and in wedding parties!)
Best investment or money well spent on the wedding that you made?
An on-the-day co-ordinator and pack up package, took all of the stress out of set up and clearing up.
Budget-over, under or what you estimated?
Probably about what was estimated, we were across the little things so there weren’t any surprises at the last minute.
