Real Wedding; Noni and Kurt @ Centennial Vineyards
About You Two;
Now, How did you two meet?
Our dads are best friends, so we have always known each others families. We weren’t really friends as children but later in life we had a friendship that eventually turned into something more.
Who popped the Question and how did it happen?
After 9.5 years, Kurt proposed (finally!). I had organised a trip to Jervis Bay with our friends, and after the group morning walk to Hyams Beach, Kurt ‘dropped the knee’. It was perfect having our close friends with us, made the whole occasion that little bit more special.
Why did you choose your venue and how was the venue choosing process?
Before I got engaged, I saw Centennial Vineyards on Instagram. This couple’s wedding was featured on a wedding photographer’s account and it looked incredible. It was always in the back of my mind. When we were engaged and looking for venues, Kurt instantly loved it too. We made sure to consider a bunch of other places, but we kept comparing other venues to Centennial, the style just felt more like us. We would say it reminded us of Tuscany. Once we went for the site tour and lunch, it a done deal.
Quick Fire Questions;
How many wedding guests did you have?
We had 95 guest!
Sit down or Cocktail Style?
Sit down dinner, but we did shared platters instead of alternate drop.
What month?
February 2024
Planning The Wedding;
Was planning the wedding stressful or did you enjoy the journey?
Some parts were stressful but overall I enjoyed it. I think it’s normal to have stressful moments. For most brides, they have never planned a wedding before, and are unaware of how things will play out. However
How involved were you both in the wedding planning, did one of you take more of the lead on certain aspects than others or were you both equally involved?
We were both involved, but I did take the lead because I do love events and planning for them. Kurt is very creative and was more involved in the DIY building, flowers, and music. I think this worked well as we both leaned into our strengths.
What was the top couple of non-negotiables or important must-haves at the wedding for you both?
We wanted good food and wine, good music and everyone to have a good time. I didn’t want anyone to not have fun or laugh at our wedding!
Tell us about your dress and that dress-finding process?
I ended up getting the first dress I tried on. It was a beautiful fitted dress called Remi from the brand Made With Love. I went to two other Bridal Dress stores but every time I tried on a new dress, I found myself comparing it back to Remi. The team at Made With Love were super enthusiastic, which made the process super fun. They actually recommended pairing it with an extra long veil that had the same Lace detail on the end. I loved the dramatic veil!
What sort of theme, vibe or style did you go for?
I think we called it a Summer Garden-Party Vibe.
On the Day;
How did you both feel wedding morning?
Excited! I was surrounded by the best girlfriends all morning, who were all super pumped and hyped up for the day!
The best advice I could give to any future brides is that you are allowed to be stressed in the lead up to the wedding, but the minute you wake up on the wedding day, leave the stress behind. Go with the flow, because everyone around you will match your energy, so if you’re happy and excited, so are they and positive energy continues throughout the day!
What was the best part or moment of your day?
Seeing Kurt during our first look. It was so special to see each other and have a moment to ourselves. Every couple is different, and for us having that moment to ourselves felt more right.
Anything you would change about your wedding or anything that didn’t go to plan?
I wouldn’t change anything! Everyone had fun, and made some incredible memories from the day, and
Are there any rituals, sentiments or traditions you incorporated into the day?
We had some many people that mean the world to us, so we tried to incorporate them into our day. We had our family friend be a witness for the marriage certificate, and another friend be our MC.
After the Wedding;
Describe newlywed life in a couple of words?
Pure Joy.
Best investment or money well spent on the wedding that you made?
Photographer and Videographer – because you will be looking back at these forever, but also having an on the day coordinator. I really really really LOVED having the extra help with small tasks (that you wouldn’t even think of).
Budget-over, under or what you estimated?
Oh..over what we estimated, not drastically but over what I had thought a wedding would cost prior to getting married.
