Real Wedding; Rebecca and Robert @ The Cove
About You Two;
Now, How did you two meet?
Like most love stories…. At work!
Who popped the Question and how did it happen?
Rob and with his typical cheekiness.
Why did you choose your venue and how was the venue choosing process?
We originally wanted our wedding to be in Fiji, and for typical of our time, COVID had other plans. We choose The Cove because we wanted it to have similar atmosphere as our tropical holiday wedding. As we had particular idea in mind, we found it really hard to find a venue, until we stumbled across The Cove, and I can assure you it did not disappoint.
Quick Fire Questions;
How many wedding guests did you have?
50
Sit down of Cocktail Style?
Cocktail
What month?
April
Planning The Wedding;
Was planning the wedding stressful or did you enjoy the journey?
The most stressful part was not having enough time to dedicate to planning.
How involved were you both in the wedding planning, did one of you take more of the lead on certain aspects than others or were you both equally involved?
Both of us were very much actively involved in the planning. Our wedding was not your typical one day event, after having to reassess our original plans, we decided we would try and bring our idea of a holiday and wedding with our loved ones together and planned 4 days of amazingness. We had local caterers every day, The Cove provided a range of activities, which was amazing. We really basked in the time with our friends and families.
What was the top couple of non-negotiables or important must-have’s at the wedding for you both?
Live music and amazing food – the setup and packup by WEC.
Tell us about your dress and that dress-finding process?
Initially the dress hunt process was terrible, until I found a small boutique bridal shop, the owner was absolutely amazing, she listen exactly to what I was after and went above and beyond to have a variety of options for me on the day.
What sort of theme, vibe or style did you go for?
Relaxed / Beachy / Intimate – The Cove provides the most amazing backdrop, we really felt we didn’t need to add to that.
On the Day;
How did you both feel wedding morning?
Excited, nervous and relaxed. Maybe slightly hungover!
What was the best part or moment of your day?
Seeing the look on Rob’s face.
Anything you would change about your wedding or anything that didn’t go to plan?
Not at all, we would do it again.
Are there any rituals, sentiments or traditions you incorporated into the day?
Our favourite movie is UP and after my vows to Rob, I pinned a grape soda badge to his chest and told him ‘we are part of a club now’.
After the Wedding;
Describe newlywed life in a couple of words?
Newlywed life… hmmm… after being together for 16 years it is hectic as normal, however we definitely lived in a little wedded bliss bubble for a while.
Best investment or money well spent on the wedding that you made?
We felt the entire 4 days was well spent – however if I had to pick something, it would be the kids corner bits & bobs. 12 kids and they had an absolute ball. The parents were able to sit back and enjoy themselves, which was what it was all about for us.
